A letter from The Roseland Surgeries
Dear Patients,
We understand that accessing healthcare can sometimes be challenging and we appreciate your patience and understanding. General Practice is currently facing significant workload pressures, and we want to share some information about these challenges and how you can help us provide the best possible care.
What are workload pressures?
- High patient numbers: the number of patients per GP has increased significantly
- Administrative tasks: extensive paperwork and tasks
- Inappropriate workload transfers: tasks from other providers are passed onto GPs
- Limited resources: funding and staffing constraints
How does this affect you?
These pressures can lead to:
- Longer wait times: it may take longer to gen an appointment
- Delayed responses: slower replies to non-urgent queries
How can you help?
Your cooperation can make a difference:
- Use online services if you can: Use our Klinik form for health problems, and the NHS app to request repeat prescriptions
- Self-care: for minor ailments, consider self-care or ask your pharmacist
- Be prepared: List symptoms and questions ready for your appointment
- Follow-up appointments: Only book if necessary; sometimes a call or a message suffices
- Respect appointment times: Arrive on time and inform us if you need to cancel
- Understand prioritisation: Urgent issues are prioritised; non-urgent matters may take longer
- Avoid unnecessary requests: purchase over-the-counter medications directly from pharmacies
- Be kind: our staff are working under immense pressure to provide the care you need
Our commitment to you:
Despite these challenges, we are committed to providing high-quality care and continually improving our services.
Thank you
We want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and understanding. Together, we can ensure that everyone receives the care they need.
